Migrating BC tasks and downloaded data

Good day,

I've been using two computers for a while now, both with BitComet. PC A is a bit old and dying but has torrents that I want to keep on seeding, as well a torrents that are still downloading. I want to move these tasks and data to my newer PC B before PC A dies on me.

How do I do it?

Thanks a lot!

well if you have the torrent file.

then shift it to the other pc(PC B)

and that's the way the cookie crumbles--karstar_0208

ummm i'm not quite sure if this will work... but here goes...

1. take the torrent file and the files downloaded from it on a portable diosk and transfer to the new PC

2. open the torrent file in BitComet and shift the downloaded files to the specified directory

3. if it asks for hash checking, click ok and let it continue and it should probably start seeding or downloading from wherever it stopped

do let me know if it works... :)

cheers

first thing is that bit comet will update and keep your torrent files... if you want to move your settingss and information to another system you only need to creat a backup of your current system then tranfere it to the new system

if what comes around goes around, then when is it comming back this way??? If you think you may not like my answer then you should not ask the ques

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll be trying each one of them soon. I already made back-ups of my "at risk" PC and I'm currently fusing them together...(or technically: salvaging good parts from the old PC and adding them to the not-so-old one). I'll let you guys know what happens then. Cheers and Merry Christmas!

Regards,
