Hello Guys,

I have a problem, I have got a torrent download stuck at 99.8 % for a month or so now. I had faced this problem before the solution was delete teh data and teh torrrent and do it all over again. But this file is pretty large for me as I can only download up 30kilo bytes per second, hence, I dont want to delete it. Please let me know the way out of this issue. Thanks for your help in adavance.

BTW I have tried disabling DMZ on my router.

Stop the torrent, right click on the torrent, and click the "Manual Hash Check"

ok here's my situation i have been downloading a torrent now for a number of weeks and it seems to be stuck at 99.8% but under the "downloading" column it stats that it is downloading an amount, but under the column "amount left" it is not changing. this file is not a big file it is only about 90 mb.

Hi there - I had this many times. If it's a movie file and you are stuck, stop the download and do a manual hash check - that sometimes helps and it eventually shows 100%

Being stuck with music files is a lot easier - for example a discography with lots of albums and the odd songs come up as "not finished" stop the download and look in the directory - you might see something looking like that:

01 blahblah artist.mp3.bc!

If you rename the file and only remove the .bc! then press return and hey presto - your file IS actually finished and media player or mpc star play it just fine :)

i tried your suggestion as it is a music file with multiple files but there was no file that was named 01 blahblah.mp3.bc when i looked into the files there was about 3-4 of them that are not complete. but i don't understand if it stats that it is downloading even as little as 1kb/s why is the column that shows me how much is left to download never changing. should i stop the download and try re-downloading it or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I have noticed the same problem when downloading files that have several files to them. What I have done is disable the file in a list because it was done (listed at 100%), it then drops the next file in line down by a certain percentage and never fully downloads unless I put that file I disabled back to normal.

Hope it helps.

OK - nice and slowly again:

a finished music file in mp3 format has the appendix .mp3 - an unfinished file has the appendix .mp3.bc!

right-click on the file, rename, only remove the .bc! press return TWICE and the file is complete and plays!

You can only rename it if you stop the download - otherwise it won't let you!

Tried and tested today again on an album that was stuck at 96.7%

This only works if you have selected the following option under "Task" - "Add .bc! file extension to unfinished file"

A solution that has helped me - Stop all downloads, wait for downloads and uploads to clear to 0kbs, exit the program, wait 10 minutes, restart the program, restart the download, and it might help to set the priority on the files - if the are muliple files.

Hey guys ... sorry that you are having this problem, as I am too and it is quite aggravating.

Let me just say that I tried the solution that Hammond suggested, but unfortunately I couldn't find any files that had that extension. All mine are .mp3's, they all say that the file type is 'BitComet Unfinished Download File' but there is no reflection of this in the file name, and thus I cannot delete it. :(

I have tried the stop all and restart everything (including my router, modem, and computer) idea several different times, and with from what I saw, no success. :(

Also I wanted to mention that mine, like many other people's I think, continue to download, but with no progress. On one such file I have, I checked the 'Summary' tab, and it says that I have downloaded over 13 gigs ... the problem with this is that the file is only about 100 MB.

After noticing this, I thought that the connections are fine, but for some reason my setup (I say setup, because I don't know which component is at fault, but probably BitComet) has decided that I need to download the same information over and over again, and constantly overwrite what it just downloaded.

So the solution that worked for me in this particular case was to do the Manual Hash Check:

(in case you are part retarded like me)

Right click on the file

Select 'Stop' (you should have a grey circle to the left of your file)

Right Click on the file again

Select 'Manual Hash Check' (that circle will turn yellow)

note: this should only take a few seconds if you have a decent rig, and the file is only a couple hundred MB

after the check is complete you will get the grey circle again ...

Last step Right click on the file again

Select Start (that circle should go green again and now your download should complete itself!!)

Let me know if this works for anyone else, or if you have run across other solutions, because I think that this worked on most of mine, but I still have one that is being a pain in the ass.

I have two 1.37 gig files stuck on 99.8% and both are DL at 20 - 30 kbps and I've tried everything on these forums without success.I'm using BC 1.06 with PF on and working.

A solution that has worked with me is to simply find which files seem to be stuck and then I disable all of them (set the file priority as banned ) except for one. you'll notice that single file finish. keep on repeating the process until all your "stuck" files have downloaded.
