what software do you need to put these onto discs and does the Wii need to be chipped

YOU NEED A PROGRAM SUCH AS "DVD Decrypter" TO BURN THE IMAGE, A FREE PROGRAM AND YES IT NEEDS TO BE CHIPPED

Also, make sure your discs are large enough to hold your whole file onto, as CD's are too small as they only store up to around 700-800mb, whereas DVD's store up to 4.7gb (i think)

Quite a few consoles these days use dual layered discs, which hold a lot more, because of they're size, so depending on the size of the file, you may need dual layered discs.
