Hello I have a very weird problem, I am on winxp and using Netgear DG834GT. The problem is when i start download with bitcomet everything goes very well and download speed is on top and DHT & WAN is green but when i try to use my browser or sign in msn they act like there is no connection when i exit bitcomet everything goes back to normal.

I did the port forwarding and everything else and updated my router and setup the latest version of bitcomet but still no solution.

Thanks for your time

sounds like your maxing out your bandwith with bitcomet ,leaving no bandwidth to do anything else ,slow down your download and upload speeds and see what happens.

cheers.

Thanks for your reply,

I tried to minimize the download and upload rate but in vane I even reduced both to 10kb/s and 10kb/s but nothing changed :S

I looked everywhere for a solution but people keep saying the same thing and it doesnt work for me, is there anything else I can do ?

Im running xp sp3 as well with the netgear DG834G with no probs .

But you say you've shut it right down and the problem is still there, but have you checked that your long term seedings are'nt running at full bore,as there are two settings ,well three if you use the scheduler .

As my previous answer is still the most likely cause.

cheers

I adjusted my long term seeding but the same problem exist :(, msn trouble shooter says its related to the key ports, I dont know what is that ??

in older versions of bitcomet I had the same problem and I used to restart the router and it fixes the problem but nothing happens in the new one.

Thanks again

what your refering to there is your messenger --- 1st check that your time and date are correct on pc if not put right and try again .

2nd if not try this --

Go to Internet Explorer/Tools/Advanced

Scroll down to Security

Uncheck the box Check for server certificate revocation*

Click apply

You should now be able to log on to windows live.

failing that try and repairing your adapter -- right click on your tellys bottom right and click repair see what happens -- failing all them then im stuck .

cheers

have recently read somewhere ,cant think where exactly but apparently bitcommet has a compatabilty issue with certain netgear routers .

maybe thats the problem. Or try updateing your routers firmware , you can gat the updates from netgear . all you have to do is download the correct file for the router ,place say on desktop.unzip if necessary . go into the router and update pointing to the saved file and it will do the rest for you.

Yes, I had big problems with netgear too and chucked the router in the end - now I'm running on a Thomson SpeedTouch ST585v6 and everything is peachy :)

the emule plugin is also causing problems , ie maxing out the cpu and causing the same effects as having no internet connection .

disable the plugin and see if that cures it

cheers
