[SUGGESTION] Area Expansion
Size: Large, Medium, Small Sat Jan 10, 09 10:55 PM | Category: My Postbar

Why is expanding the area of the initial city not part of the very first 10 "newbie" tasks? It just makes zero sense to build up a city with an area size of 278(lol) and come to find out at the very last few remaining available points-you need to expand. Great way to generate revenue for the game for people who have the option to purchase gold, and the available currency to do so. So, your options are to either demo a bunch of hard work, build new cities, or buy gold. I am not opposed to any of the options, except that some countries do not have access to creating a PayPal account - so buying gold is not an option. Thus you are stuck with demolishing the very strategy you worked hard to put together. Also, peeps have mentioned that they had bigger lots in their initial city area. Was wondering if the lots were equal in size from the get-go? And, if not, they should be - to inspire people to choose a strategy to obtain a City Builder - inspiring the competition between players to find the best area on the map with the most points to develop on.

Love the game!

Two more things. 1.)Academy is "the technology research center for the city", why do we have to use area points to build a level of Academy, and then when we purchase technology features for our troops and cavalry we get area points deducted? Kinda double-dipping. 2.)Expansion Option choices:(Currently is 500 gold for 10 area points) how about creating 300 gold for 5 area expansion, 500 gold for 10 area expansion, and 900 gold for 20 area expansions?

-Man i wish i could buy gold:)

Awesome game!

3) what for are those foundry, watermill and sawmill if we have ironmine, forest, cropland already seems a double dipping to me too. for that could be option in technology 'tools' whos help u with faster production and increase resoures not for gold and city area points. thank u respect brothers!

I ended up buying a city expander and will need to demolish a level 10 remedy for enough city area for level 1 reclamation. I am demolishing for 1 city area so i do not have to spend another 500 gold. But since the game is still in beta, maybe the plan was to make people buy the expander from the mall. iirc the last newbie quest to level city hall was to 4, and it is not a prereq for anything else later on until its too late. Out of city area and faced with needing 25mil resources for level 12 city hall. From what im hearing, this is common and others have just made a new capital trying not to make the same mistake.

I totally agree..

Building my initial city to 280, was a complete waste of time.

I only realised when it was too late and began to fully understand the game

I have already surpassed the first city with another of my cities, however I must say that it would have been better to have a larger area from the start.

When I built my second city I got 695 as an area size. Go figure? For me this is an insult after spending all my resources and many hours building and raiding for my first city.

The only option now is hard work and gold expenditure...No more Newbie bonuses to build other cities..

Oh well...Such is life..!

And as other have suggest...PAYPAL does not work in all countries..

Man 695 wow thats nice. On my recent three new ciites not one is over 350. Infact, (2)two are 280 and (1)one is 345. Not gonna say it, but I want too. Need to do some thinking.

Great Game.

I am totally agree with you. I think the reason that the city area is so small because the game leads you to spend a lot of time in the game and end up with insufficient area. If you don't want to waste your effort before, then you have to pay real money to buy gold to expand you city.

Thank you for your good suggestions, and we will improve the game.

I am a newbie and started the game about 3 weeks ago, Actually, I tried to build everything as fast as I can and did not know the meaning of the city area. Now my city area is 280/280 and when I tried to build something, the system say "insufficient area". Now, I can build nothing and I can not have a new city. What can I do ?

You can buy city expander from mall with 1500 gold. Or else you will need to research on land reclamation.

I spend gold on the city expander and I got another 10 units. Just enough to develope the city builder to build another city. My first city is now stuck and remained the same situation "insufficient area" and I have no more gold to expand. Do I need to start over again to build my 2nd city?

By the way, my 2nd city seems bigger in size "441". Is it enough to build up everything? or just like my first city which end up stuch in the middle?

Can you PLEASE create a drop-down menu for the mall item (City Expander) so as NOT to expand the wrong city - for crying OUT loud! So many times the game screen, which shows "Location", "City Area" "title" and above these items, (a menu of which city 1,2,3), DOES not refresh when moving between the cities. Murphy's law would have it I bought area for a city which does not need it. And, I selected the correct city screen before making the purchase of expansion from the mall. GD frustrating! And, I'll poke you in the eye if u tell me to "be more careful". Bigger value purchases must have some check and balance, it MUST. And, can you please get an additional payment method for people outside the United States, so we can buy gold online too. PayPal really stinks! HELL I'LL MAIL U A MONEY ORDER, JUST E-MAIL me THE ADDRESS TO SEND IT TO. Srry for being crabby. Awesome Game!

No, I know for a fact I purchased City Expansion for the city which needed the expansion, cuz it showed on that city, after I made the deal go down. After your update though, come to think of it, is when I first saw it assigned to the capital-which doesn't need the expansion. lots of bugs man..

Bag Item DEFAULT "CURRENT CITY" in drop-down goes into your CAPITAL city. T The drop-down menu for the bag item purchased (City Expander) must point to "city-1", and or "city-2" and NOT the default setting of "Current City". IF you have the interface for City-1 OPEN (far upper left above your city avatar/photo), and you use the bag item "City Expander" and leave the default drop-down as "Current City" it will go into your CAPITAL City, and NOT the city which is indicated in the UPPER left of your current screen.

well i got that problems too...but i try to reason out with myself... u have to fully understand the mechanics of the "items" u need to build...i follow the newbie task before and ended to have a city builder and still have 20 area units to expand my first city. im trying to get the reclamation. this u can do with out spending gold to city expander. now i have 5 cities 350-650 land areas. so dont waste time in building non essential in getting the CITY BUILDER.

ASAP get the City Builder as fast as u can
