I started on the Bitcomet 3 site last night around this time or so and my chars are all about to hit 30, and I haven't done any of their class up stuff yet. But, anyways, with 4 characters running simultaneously, in a day gaining say 30 levels per character, and 400k per character (counting unliquidated powders in banks) the results are substantially better than when I first started on Odyssey with 1 character. This might have something to do with me knowing the game better, but I started on a seperate faction just so I wouldn't have the benefit of knowing all the quests (which I have done none anyways). So, if you're looking to start a new character or 2, I suggest starting them together and in team as much as possible.
Might conduct more research to see just how much faster the bot "can" level characters in groups than as solo... one thing I'm not looking forward to is if these BitComet servers have zones that break group like Beast Camp or Tunnel...
As for items, the characters with the most money I decomp all the items I can and the chars with the least money (my eventually to be NG) I just vendor the equipment that would have been decomped so I can keep their potions and repairs running until I start skilling up.
