dont forget your using the beta version and as many a testing site has suggested the final version will proberly work much different if not slower than the beta is running at the moment.

wouldnt you be better off waiting till the final comes out.

Havent used it at moment but the reviews all look encouraging

cheers

Beta versions are created for stability not performance. So i dont agree. Some things might be different but the foundation is pretty set, dont think much will change. just offering, later

yes i know that is the case but have a read round some of the testing sites and see if you cum up wth the same verdict on the speed issue because they convinced me.

cheers.

Just out of curiosity - how is Windows 7 compared to XP Pro SP3 ?

Cheers

all the reports ive read at the moment are saying there is a significant speed increase compared to xp pro sp3 [which im using] and vista .Lets face it vistas aload of poo , and the man himself BG has basically said the same ,as to why windows 7 is cumming out.

for the tests the same data has being used, the same processes ie downloading the same files from different sources , hard drive to harddrive , you know what i mean . But they do suggest that the speed might drop when the final comes out.

The only issues im having so far is joining to a domain server and trying to use uTorrent which is why i had to switch to bitcomet. Im still not getting speeds i would assume i should get with Windows 7 ultimate. Im seeding now and im only uploading 20k per peer, 500k upload total. My line can easily handle 2200k a(speedtest.com results are 19,815k upload)and has in the past. I do have a feeling it is more my router then the OS, because im getting the same results on different machines.

I also built this machine from the ground up.

Quad core intel processor

3 GIG RAM

SATA 300 GIG veloca raptor hard drive 10,000RP 3.8 seek time, 1.0 gbps transfer ( for opearint systems)

SATA2 1 terabyte hard drive 7200 rpm 8.7 seek time, 3.0 gbps transfer ( for data)

Blue Ray burner

NVIDA 700mgz GPU processor 1 Gig RAM

Network:

8 port gigbyte switch > Actiontech FioS router > FiOS business first class 50/20 meg line
