My task list disappears on XP, v1.9, v1.10

One day last week I started up BitComet 1.9 and my task list appeared empty.

It should have shown about 15 files uploading and about 10 downloading.

After browsing the forums, couldn't find any adequate solution.

So I tried the work around, re-opening the original torrent file etc, which worked ok for the downloads, but not for the uploads.

Which was a timewaster, because the following day the task list disappeared again.

I uninstalled BC 1.9, then installed BC 1.10, reconstructed the task list.

The next day, guess what, the task list was empty again.

There are plenty of complaints on this forum about the same problem, why no explantion of why it happens, and why no proper fix?

Same problem, will go back to 1.08, where it was still working......

Come on somebody give us a clue as to the problem.

just run older version of bitcomet 1.04 and lower work fine. no bug's

The attempts at explanations (Downloads.xml permissions, file corruption, install obsolete version) are not convincing.

While the problem is old and frequent it inspires no interest to the BC developers, otherwise they would have fixed it.

After hours of frustration, I found relief here: http://utorrent.com.

Does anyone have more info on the v1.10 please - whatever v1.09 does wrong, v1.10 might do worse - I'm curious

Hi George, my sentiments exactly!! I was waiting to see how v1.10 worked and I can now see that it's just as bad as 1.09. In two weeks, I have gained 10 points. TEN!! I haven't deleted any tasks yet there are still no uploads and my downloads just all went on strike. I plan to hang around for about another week to see if there are any improvements and if not, I'll go back to utorrent, which never gave me any problems at all. If I go, I'll miss your feedback and comments - you seem to care more than admin. does, and why they didn't invite either you or Simon to work with them, I don't know. Anyway, keep cool and thanks for your words of friendship.

Keep cool and just do it.
