downloaded movie not able to see pic

I have downloaded two movies i can hear the sound but not able to see the pic im working off of vista and the movie is played in windows media player which is my default assuming. I have also tried to watch youtube videos and it doesnt play them either asked to upgrade adobe reader which i did still doesnt work anyone can help would be great
