NAT Port Mapping function?

1. Your Version of BitComet

BitComet v1.10

2. Your version of Windows and some basic info about your computer

WinXP Home SP2, Athlon64 3500+, 2GB RAM.

3. Do you use a Router, What model, and have you properly forwarded your listening port

D-Link 604 router, yes I've already set my listen port correctly.

Q1. I don't know if its supposed to display like this but I configured the Firewall Rules to allow my PC IP as the "source" & WAN as the "destination" with TCP selected as the "Protocol" & keyed in my listen port number in the "Port Range" setting. BitComet used to report my NAT Port Mapping as "Failed" but after I set the router firewall it now reports as "Added [D-Link(),D-Link()]". Does this mean I've correctly set the router for NAT Port Mapping function?

Q2. What exactly does NAT Port Mapping do for me?

Nat port mapping is an automatic way to setup portforwarding (virtual server is dlinks term for this).

Since you have done this manually, you can disable NAT port mapping in your options. In my opinion, opening the port is much easier then getting port mapping to work properly, but to its credit, some people do install bitcomet and it effortlessly opens their port, but I believe this is a rare occurrence.

You can find guides for most routers at...

ps. Please make a new topic if you request support. Asking for assistance in another members topic is both rude, and confusing to all who read it.
