Watchmen... Watchmen, Watchmen, Watchmen. Personally I liked it. From word of mouth and on a few web posts I actually heard that the movie sucked because it was long and boring but as a huge comic book fan, I wanted to see it for myself. And with every comic book/movie adaptation, I like to see the source material first to compare the two. So first, I downloaded the Watchmen comic book from thepiratebay.com, which is one of the most reliable torrent web sites that Ive seen to date. And in a couple days I finished the whole book (Or rather, the digital book), then I watched the movie. The first thing I noticed was how acurately the movie matched the comic. Almost like the director of the movie had the comic in his hands while filming the movie. Of course there were one or two things ommited from the movie, most likely to cut the length and cost of the movie but none of the omissions harmed the rest of the story. The actors couldnt have done a better job at filling the roles.

The second thing you have to know about this movie is that its not a typical comic book movie that is all about good guys fighting bad guys or the good guy defeating the bad guy to save the girl which I think is becomeing a horrible cleeshay in Hollywood. But the story in the movie as in the comic book is more about sending a message to the audience. So if your expecting to see a nonstop action fighting movie with costumed super heroes beating bad guys to a pulp like the X-men or Spiderman, your going to be sorely dissapointed. However the fights that you do see will surely make you cringe every so often. (Lots of bones cracking and desintegration. The only qualm I had with this movie was the ending, because it was the only thing in the movie that was actually changed from the comic book which even though the ending in the comic book was slightly cornier than the ending in the movie, it still made the message that the story was trying to get across make more sense.

I highly recommened this movie to those that like comic book based movies and especially to those who love complex stories that send a message to its audience. As I watched this movie/read the comic, I couldnt help but think of the movie Seven (starring brad pitt & Morgan Freeman) and how they were similar in the way that it was sending a disturbing truth about humanity.

I give this movie a score of 8.5/10 because it was almost identical to the comic except for the afformentioned alternate ending.

A great, great movie...much deeper that one would think...and it makes some heavy points and makes you think about human condition and the endless human stupidity...totally recommended...
