Hello my name a MetalSlug, welcome to glorious country Panama, I like a You, I like Sex!
just kiddin'
1st just wanted to say that I was amazed of all your respones from my 1st post, thanks to all that visited and for those to come.
this blog is just to give you a little more insight about Panama. Usually when I talk to people online or in person, in another country, we start the usual small talk (whats ur name, where u from, etc) when I tell them where I come from, I get a look like where the hell is that or that must be a jungle or the usual, oh u mean panama city, FL. which i always must explain that it is a country and it is between colombia and costa rica. that is not the reason for this blog, but to give you all a little insight on what is this country like. it has its jungle parts but not dense as the amazon. the capital, which is called panama, is a very busy city, big buildings, lots and I mean LOTS of cars, people, it is very busy. Panama is divided in provinces, they are 10 provinces, usually the provinces other than panama are the ones which have farms and caddle but the metropolitan area is expanding little by little. as every hispanic country, we have our crime like every other country in fact, and we have our political problems. panama is a very small country, that is probably why nobody notices it. but one of the things that tourists like is the fact that we use american dollars as our coin. here they call it "Balboa" but is still a regular dollar bill with washingtons face on it, the only thing that is not excepted is some of our coins, but it is still accepted american coins, so no biggy there.
if you know about boxing, you might have heard of a boxer named Roberto "Mano de Piedra" Duran. He is one of the boxing legends here in panama. A known baseball player in the states would be Mariano Rivera, and some others i cant remember right know but i'll post them on the comment section if i do remember. We really have many things to be known about and that is just the sport part. In music we have a Salsa (hispanic music, sort of like jazz but u can dance to it, which is really complicated) artist known as Ruben Blades. He was in a movie called "Predator" (not sure if it was 1 or 2) he was a detective, got killed in the movie, but if you get to see the movie, u might catch a glimpse of him if you do not know Salsa.
in Current events here, Panama has also a grammy won this week by a group called Los Rabanes. They are a sort of reggae/punk group. and they brought home a grammy.
in closing, so you can rest you eyes now, I just wanted let the world know that we are not a jungle, not that anyone said it here, but just so you learn a little about our country, and well I was feeling a little patriotic since it is november, and most of our revolutionary movements happened in november.
again thanks for the responses for the previous blogs, hope you enjoyed this one.
