Oh yes Dam194 & Laura - you have made my day! Toronto - A wonderful city - I spent a whole day up the sears tower (she didn't mind though - haha!), and once you get passed that scary (v. fast) glass elivator - you never look back (or down - and forget standing on that glass plate - no way no how!)... Watching the airplanes land on the airport that is a million miles below the restaurant and watching the sun go down over the lake - that was better than any tower in the world - better than (I think No. 51) in Hong Kong, or even the Bon Aventure in LA - Ahhhh Toronto - I miss you so....

Sobukwe - thats not a bad defination for contemporary purposes; "A mildly pejorative term" - but not the spirit in which it is used by the good folk of the west of Ireland - The term refers to those who lived in Dublin in the 1900's and wh would fly the Union JACK (British) flag! Jack = Jackeen...
It came to simbalise those Irish people who would rather than be British than Irish and resist British occupation of the land of Irelan. The tem is used - esp. in Kerry (But Galway, Clare, Cork) which had a great and considerable history in restisting British rule... The term was "VERY pejorative" and Jackeen's were set upon by those who considered to be part of the contined oppression of the Irish people by the British - and so were either dim witted, drunk - or indeed - perhaps both!!! The term has however - as you rightly described also come to be used in the way you say. To a true Irishman the defination is mine however!!!
