sounds like something has changed in your system. If you have installed something new, then it is likely conflicting with bitcomet. You might need to remove such program from your startup list by running "msconfig".

It would also be a good idea to scan for virus, spyware or other unwanted infections.

I have the same problem, I have used v1.11 & 1.12 add remove the program did virus scan did not solve it.

Even windows task manager will not close it you need to restart the windows. It works for 10 to 15 min then not responding.

I'm useing Bitcomet since 4 years did not face such problem.

i don't know but try repairing your registry...and keep track of your cpu/memory usage when this happens. have you installed a patch or a booster for bicomet recently? patches don't officially exist except for emule witch is a plugin, and boosters can do more bad than good, some boosters act like trainers to games and may not work the same on all versions. hope this helps.
