I just wanted to say that I'm very impressed at the speeds I get using bitcomet. I've seen speeds of over 1500 kB/s on downloads.

no, most wifi connections are much faster then the internet connections they connect too, so there is no reason why you can't run torrents on wifi as efficiently as ethernet.

Also, its the peers you connect to that make up your speed, not the trackers.

wow, it is really true?

How can I achieved such download speed.

We are using a 1GB internet connection and we are using a cable. I also suspect that we are more than 10 people using it at the same time. Though, when I go home from work, I am the only one using it for at lease 1 hour or and hour and a half.

But still my download speed is very very very very slow. As I had mention on the other topic, its been at least a month or more I am downloading this movies but still the last one is still on 12% and moving very very very slow.

Another thing is that probably my ISP.

Can you help me on this.

inifdi,

We cannot help you if you don't provide the required info. Read the rules for requesting support, then make a topic of your own. Also, run a speedtest on your connection, because I don't think anywhere in the world has a 1gB/s internet. Some Commercial Servers offer 1gb/s, but your claiming yours is 8times faster then that, over 8000mb/s. The worlds fastest residential connections are only 20mb/s, and most people have under 5mb/s.

speedtest.net is a good place to test.

Thanks for the info. I have tried to go to speedtest.net like you have told me and tested the server and the results are as follows (kindly help to explain):

download speed = 0.42 Mb/s

upload speed = 0.06 Mb/s

ping = 79 ms

As a normal user of computer and internet, is this a good speed. Sorry as well for the misinformation regarding the internet connection I mention previously (its only 1mb/s). As of now we are trying to contact our ISP to make it to 4mb/s.

In detailed, here are some more results given by the speed test (on download speed):

MP3 (5MB) = 2 mins

Video Clip (35 MB) = 11 mins

Movie (800 MB) = 254 mins

Yet download speed is still very slow. I would like to inform you as well that I am turning my computer off when I am going to work at 2:30PM local time here in Saudi Arabia.

Please help me on this.

Thanks a lot!

Also you have to keep in mind thats alot of ISP are now throttling the downloads speeds at certain peek times of the day......BT are the biggest culprits i here....And with BT owning most of the UK land lines if your ADSL connected your gonna suffer like me, Im with AOL and in the mornings i get great ish speeds like 550kbs, buts 3pm to 12pm crap as low as 20 to 30kbs and thats with a 8mb connection and port forwarded all green lights ect...

hey!!! i wanna download good movies. when i download torents from torrentz.com.. i end up getting sppeds of only 12 to 14.. can u tell me how i can increase my spped and recommend some sites for downloading movies ..

vasy_andone (vasy) Wed Jun 17, 09 04:34 AM

if the speed test told you that you have a 0,42mb/s connection, your max download rate is 55 - 60kb/s. the real speeds are somewhere 8 times lower, the best way to speed up is to consult your isp and upgrade your connection.

a life without an end.. a feast without dessert.
