"FAKE" Torrents

Hi there ppl's, I am sooo sick of all these fake torrents out there at the moment, although I am getting pretty good at spotting them does any one else have a fake radar they want to share, I think we would all agree who is behind them or at least 95% of the time any way, but would be interested in hearing your thoughts on the matter, cheers, Nigel

Hi there, firstly i always read what others have said, sometimes though the torrent is good, they may not have known how to open it though, or which program to use, then i look at the uploader, check to see it is who he says it is, if there is a contradiction, you can bet it is a fake, i will read the info on it and the details, see what they say is in the file, i dont bother with free passworded files any more, 95% of them usually waste my time and download usage, looking also at the number of seeders and leechers, if it is unusually high, like 20000 you can bet it is a fake, also if it is the only torrent out there of its kind, it will be a bit suspect, i generally only use mininova, i have found that the seeders here are consistantly more reliable than anywhere else, the moderators here are on top of the scammers pretty quick, which is good, lastly i will download about 5% and then check the preview, and that will tell me what is like in the quality and if it is a genuine torrent, at that stage about 1% are deleted, saves me a hell of a lot of time, i used to be on it for hours every day, but not any more, i hope this helps, if i think of any more i will post them here, there is bound to be some that i haven't mentioned due to haste, please feel free to add more if you choose to, regards nudge
