How can I convert QuickTime MOV file to AVI for Mac? The QuickTime MOV format is the video output format for many digital still cameras. MOV is also becoming very popular as the distribution format for video bloggers; because many video bloggers are also Mac users. But sometimes it is necessary to convert Mov files to a compatible format. In most cases, converting Mov to AVI is the quickest intermediate step for converting MOV to something portable to applications and portable devices. These days I have a few .mov files that I would like to convert to .avi files. I searched for many ......

As you sow, so shall you reap This is a great saying and it fits for all of us whether rich or poor human or animals, big or small. We can’t sow thorns and reap apples. The law of karma is universal. It applies equally to all. Every thought, word, deed, emotion, feeling and wish are the seeds we show in the fields of life. In due course the seeds will germinate and grow into trees and yield fruit bitter or sweet, which we shall have to eat. No one else that can do for us. There are causes that produce their effect immediately. There are other causes that produce their after after long ......

My Top 10 Metal Drummers
Tue May 6, 08 09:00 PM | Category:Metal Musicians

Drums are a core instrument in metal music. By default the drummers in this field are forced to have a great amount of creativity and technical ability. I want to share with you what I consider to be the best drummers in the metal scene. They are musicians that take skills to a higher level and they continue to amaze me in every listen. The features that I consider to form a great drummer are polyrhythmic drumming, variation, creativity and technical difficulty in the performance. As it is logical, most of the drummers in the list are from the technical/progressive ......

McKellen to Play Gandalf once again!

This article might include some rather old news to all hardcore Tolkien fans out there. This will be especially true if you’ve been following the numerous blogs and websites out there that dedicate themselves to writing about the latest rumours and news regarding the upcoming film adaption of J.R.R Tolkiens epic masterpiece “The Hobbit”. I read an article about this on one of the “Paparazzi” websites in my country (the kind on which you can spend 32 weeks reading about how fat Britney has become). Ian McKellen played the legendary Gandalf character in the ......

Old Wounds

People have scars in all sorts of unexpected places, like secret road maps of their personal histories, diagrams of all their old wounds. Most of our old wounds heal, leaving nothing behind but a scar. But some of them don'T. Some wounds we carry with us everywhere, and though the cut's long gone...The pain still lingers. What's worse, new wounds, which are so horribly painful... Or old wounds that should've healed years ago and never did? Maybe our old wounds teach us something. They remind us of where we've been and what we've overcome. They teach us lessons about ......

The Vikings

After publishing on my page such posts as RUNES , Freya - Goddess of love and Valkyries , it is logical for me to speak today about Vikings. When most people think of Vikings, they immediately picture muscular men, dressed in furs, wearing iron helmets with horns (there is no evidence that the Norse ever wore them. Norsemen in both artwork from the time period, and burials wore nasal helm - a slightly conical helmet with a nose guard), sailing over oceans in dragon themed wooden boats, looking for new land to raid, and slaughter every single inhabitant. Most think ......
aspects of a gipsy's life

It is often difficult for us to accept people who behave differently, who do not meet our norms. The strange and the unfamiliar often confuse us. We speak about equity but for many that means similarity. Discriminatory signs and advertisements in the 1960s were partly the reason for the first race relations legislation in Britain. Forty years on, ‘No Travellers’ and ‘No Caravan-Dwellers’ signs still appear, in blatant breach of the law. The media haven’t helped either. The routine use of racist language and vicious stereotypes about Travellers and Gypsies has legitimise ......

The 15 Most Common White Lies and Why
Sat May 3, 08 05:53 PM | Category:psycology

Everyone tells a white lie on occasion, it’s just a question of why. Some white lies save relationships, some ease a hectic situation, and others buy us time. The list could go on forever. Stretching the truth is a natural component of human instinct because it’s the easy way out. We all do it, so there is no reason to deny it. Honestly, I think the world is probably a better place because of our white lies. As long as we aren’t hurting others or breaking the law, these innocent lies can make life more pleasant. Most of these white lies only stretch an interpretation ......
Pi with Boards of Canada

Watched this again recently and luckily found it mixed with Boards of Canada-- one of my favorite bands. I love the exploration in this movie of the mathmatical patterns in nature and the universe itself. Like it feels good that there really is order. Science seems like it's proving there is an intellegent design-- purpose, order. I feel fascinated with people who search for answers and order and patterns that are similiar in micro and macro levels. Makes me think of this book-- a young adult sci-fi book at that, that made me feel that size is irrelevant- that universal ......

Sir Ranulph Fiennes

After sitting and watching in amazement about a person who I’ve watched on TOP GEAR I had to post this to let others know who is being talked about… Sir Ranulph Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes, 3rd Baronet OBE (born 7 March 1944), usually known simply as Ranulph (Ran) Fiennes, is an English adventurer and holder of several endurance records. He was the first man to visit both the north and south poles by land and the first man to completely cross the Antarctic on foot. Fiennes was born in England shortly after the death of his father, Lieutenant-Colonel Sir ......

Band: Necrophagist Genre: Technical Death Metal Discography: "Onset of Putrefaction" (1999), "Epitaph" (2004) What happens when talented musicians mix brutal death metal vocals with neoclassical/technical guitar playing and progressive bass and drums? To find the answer one just needs to listen to the twisted german band Necrophagist. Resting comfortably in the elite of death metal, Necrophagist is one of the more influential bands around when entering the technical field. With only two demos and two studio albums at their behalf, they raised the standard ......

Granuaile, the Irish Pirate Queen

Today I want to tell you about a very strong and powerful woman in Irish History: Granuile - the Irish Pirate Queen. Gráinne Ní Mháille (c. 1530 – c. 1603), also known as Granuaile or Gráinne Mhaol, known as Grace O'Malley, is an important figure in Irish Folklore, but was in fact a larger-than-life figure from 16th century Irish History. She is also known to history as the Pirate Queen of Ireland. She lived from around c. 1530 to c.1603. Grace was the daughter of the chief of the O'Malley clan. The O'Malleys controlled most of what is ......

What is 710......... ..??? This doesn't mean all women are stupid when it comes to cars....But there always are (a lot of) exceptions!! Yesterday I was having some work done at the Ford dealer. A woman came in and asked for a seven-hundred- ten. We all looked at each other, and the mechanic asked,'What is a seven-hundred- ten?' She replied, 'You know, the little piece in the middle of the engine.I lost it and need a new one. It had always been there.' The mechanic gave the woman a piece of paper and a pen and asked her to draw what the piece looked like. She drew a circle and in ......

How to configure your router to allow fast BitTorrent downloads Update: I'm bringing this post back to the top of the weblog because since I wrote it one year ago lots of readers added great info related to many different settings of routers. There sure is a lot of people that have adopted BitTorrent as the tool of choice to download movies and TV shows. However if you are using a network router you might be facing painstainkingly slow downloads ......

What the “force of character” means? People with noble intentions are found everywhere, but people with “force of character” stand out from the crowd. As the fire inside the rest of us flickers from gusts of indecision, these minds usually burn bright and rise above the storm while confidently pressing forward. They seem to know the secret for personal success. This buried secret also indirectly draws in the individual regard and respect of others. Most of us start off with a similar ......

Magic World Online is bitcomet's new FREE online game. The game format is a cross between Dungeon Seige and Dungoens & Dragons. If your into non-stop battles and internet chatting, then this is made for you. The audio track sounds alot like the Heroes of Might & Magic music. It's good but you'll eventually turn it off. I haven't found much in tutorials, it seems the best way to learn is to jump right in. And of corse, you can always ask another player during gameplay for help, most will answer any questions you have. The game makers have set the game up to where you'll have to team up ......
