KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 (Bernama)
-- The SIM (subscriber identity module) card swallowed by
an Indonesian woman suspect when she was arrested by police
yesterday could provide important evidence in the sexual assault
and murder of eight-year-old Nurin Jazlin Jazimin.
According to a police source, police were trying
to retrieve the card from the 23-year-old suspect which she
swallowed while being taken from Bukit Aman to the Petaling Jaya
Magistrate's Court for police to obtain a seven-day remand order on
her.
The woman's action choked her and caused her to
faint while being led into the court building.
"We're trying our best to retrieve the SIM card
although it's difficult. The card could give us the lead in this
case," the source said when contacted by Bernama Sunday.
It is believed that the SIM card contains the
telephone numbers and calls made by the suspect to Nurin's father,
Jazimin Abdul Jalil, after the girl went missing.
