Richard Dawkins in his book "The God Delusion" gives a very interesting scale that contains the spectrum of  the probabilities of the human judgements about the existence of god (understanding god as the following hypothesis: "there exists a superhuman, supernatural intelligence who deliberately designed and created the universe and everything in it, including us").

Although I don´t like to define myself (to define is to limit) I could say that I´m a solid 6 in the scale...which one are you?

About darkness...

At dusk, the black curtain falls

The world is at ease

Danger is behind the walls

Darkness brings my inner peace

No dread can overcome me now

As I can be myself in the dismal streets

A new identity in me endowed

By the beauty of night's feats

I have become an island

So distant, barren and cold

That few on the shores can land

To hear the dreams untold

Darkness is my confident, my companion

Happiness can not elude me in the obscure

The world is simply my minion

In my throne of loneliness I rest assured......

This is my favourite short story. I know the most of you already know it but i want to share the story with those who haven´t read it yet. Don´t be lazy not to read it, it is short indeed...

The Cast of the Amontillado by Edgar Allan Poe

The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could; but when he ventured upon insult, I vowed revenge. You, who so well know the nature of my soul, will not suppose, however, that I gave utterance to a threat. At length I would be avenged; this was a point definitively settled - but the very definitiveness with which it was......

In transcendental music, there is a rare breed of bands that create music not just to be heard and enjoyed but to be felt; music that becomes an insightful experience for the listener, a journey to the depths of human emotions. Following the duality of stillness and chaos, emerges a great band from Japan called Mono. Their introspective music......

Band: Octavia Sperati

Genre: Gothic Metal

Discography: "Winter Enclosure" (2005), "Grace Submerged" (2007)

Maybe this will be the softer and more melodic band to feature in my posts, but I like it nevertheless. Norway's Octavia Sperati is a young band that has the peculiar characteristic of being formed by 5 girls and only one guy (lucky bastard!!!). With all the femininity involved, the result couldn't be any different than a mellow, radio friendly and melancholic form of music. What maybe took my attention toward the band is the fact they just make it better than the bunch.

Nothing is more inherent to human condition than death. When I see the different cultures and religions in the world I only see a response to men's deep fear of dying. God him/her-self was created by humans who in their lack of understanding the universe and the purpose of existence, they look to the sky and imagined an almighty being and a life beyond death. If you have an eternal life to wait for, then the burden of life's end is more manageable, but it does not by any means makes god and beyond a reality. It only shows human kind's ignorance and limitations to understand the universe. Personally I don't believe in life after death (or in god......

Other than listening to metal, I enjoy a lot reading and one of my favourite authors is Oscar Wilde (1854 - 1900), writer, poet and dramatist. He was a very hard critic of the XIX century's society and his weapons were a relentless sarcasm and ironic sense of humour, which lead him to write lots of celebrated quotes. Some of his most famous works are the plays "A Woman of No Importance", "The Importance of Being Earnest", "Lady Windermere's Fan" and "An Ideal Husband"; and his only novel "The Picture of Dorian Gray".

The saddest thing is that most of the things he criticized back......
