There are quite a few things that are special about the band Bereavement. First, three of the four band members are indeed brothers (Jeremiah, Jonathan and Daniel Martnick), which is a peculiarity......

When you have Satan worshipers playing black metal, the picture you immediately get in your head is a dude with painted face, long black hair, leather pants, jacket and spikes even in his ass. That's why the presentation of the guys of the black metal act Akercocke is so unexpected. They decided to wear complete suits (with tie and shit) ruling......

Cadaveria01

Another impressive extreme female vocalist goes by the name Cadaveria (the girl, not the band). This Italian metalhead was part of the gothic/black metal band Opera IX from the 90´s until 2001 and in that time she recorded with the band three incredible albums "The Call of the Wood" (1995), "Sacro Culto" (1998) and "The Black Opera" (2000).

Cadaveria´s vocal abilities are awesome, quite a throat there!! She can do with her voice whatever the fuck she pleases, she goes from growls to grunts to clean vocals to screams with no effort. Opera IX in those albums played a very......

Arch Enemy 06

Female fronted metal bands are an every day thing. Extreme female vocalists are not. I want to introduce a woman to you all who will make you think twice before calling women "the weak gender". She is Angela Gossow from the melodic death metal band Arch Enemy (if you don't know who they are, well, there's not much I can do for you except to tell you that Arch Enemy is a worldwide acclaim metal force and you should get their albums as soon as you can)

She was born in Cologne, Germany on the 5th of November, 1974.  After being part of two previous metal bands back in 1991 and 1998 (Asmodia and......

Every band, with the years and every new album, faces the decision: to evolve or to remain the same. Sometimes evolution is subtle, almost imperceptive but other times it is a 180 degrees change.

Well, my......

Shape Of Despair - Shades Of...

Band: Shape Of Despair

Genre: Funeral Doom Metal

Discography: "Shades of..." (2000), "Angels of Distress" (2001), "Illusion's Play" (2004)

I said in a previous post that doom/death metal is an acquire taste. If that is true, it is a lot more applicable to funeral doom metal. Just to give you an idea, funeral doom metal is like to enjoy getting fucked with a spike dildo in the ass (not for the masses!!). The target audience of this subgenre is very small indeed, as it is the number of bands playing this kind of music (Nortt, Pantheist, Skepticism......

Psycroptic - Symbols Of Failure

Band: Psycroptic

Genre: Technical Death Metal

Most people do not do the effort to really listen to music. That´s the reason why hip hop, pop and regueton exist and in fact they are popular. Just take some good looking fellow or girl, add some repetitive beats with a synthesizer and a catchy chorus and you have a hit in your hands. Music for lazy, stupid people.

I think that´s atrocious. To me, real transcendental music is the one that obliges the listener to really pay attention, to use his/her brain to discover new things in every spin. This quality can be found......
