Shape Of Despair - Shades Of...

Band: Shape Of Despair

Genre: Funeral Doom Metal

Discography: "Shades of..." (2000), "Angels of Distress" (2001), "Illusion's Play" (2004)

I said in a previous post that doom/death metal is an acquire taste. If that is true, it is a lot more applicable to funeral doom metal. Just to give you an idea, funeral doom metal is like to enjoy getting fucked with a spike dildo in the ass (not for the masses!!). The target audience of this subgenre is very small indeed, as it is the number of bands playing this kind of music (Nortt, Pantheist, Skepticism......

Psycroptic - Symbols Of Failure

Band: Psycroptic

Genre: Technical Death Metal

Most people do not do the effort to really listen to music. That´s the reason why hip hop, pop and regueton exist and in fact they are popular. Just take some good looking fellow or girl, add some repetitive beats with a synthesizer and a catchy chorus and you have a hit in your hands. Music for lazy, stupid people.

I think that´s atrocious. To me, real transcendental music is the one that obliges the listener to really pay attention, to use his/her brain to discover new things in every spin. This quality can be found......

Mourning Beloveth - Dust

Doom death is not an easy to listen subgenre of metal, in fact, some people think that it is an acquire taste like coffee, alcohol and prostitutes. That statement may be correct but the fact is that i like doom death metal. It is the subgenre i listen to the most and i love the calm, sadness and despair it makes me feel. It´s beautiful.

I´d like to direct your attention to another great band from Ireland named Mourning Beloveth and their four studio albums: "Dust", "The Sullen Sulcus", "A Murderous Circus" and "A Disease......

Band: Nightwish

Album: "Dark Passion Play" (2007)

Genre: Symphonic Metal

Well, many people speculated that Tarja´s departure from Nightwish would be the end of the band. To me it was, not because of the change of vocalist but for what Nightwish has become in this album title "Dark Passion Play".

It seems like the angel of death has become passionate for gothic/symphonic metal bands. I almost can not stand another mourning. All my favorites bands of the past have become cheesy, commercial and totally disgusting shadows of their past selves. Just take a look at this......
