Retirement is not resignation from life, but an opportunity to live a life full, dynamic life. It not a time to sit and wait for distiny to show you the door, but to do something that would make things better. And in doing so you also enrich your own life.

Purpose is the engine that powers and drives life. Without purpose, you would get bored and depressed.

As a student, you wanted to become a professional. During employment you were to busy in earning money and accomplishing carrer. As a parent you were busy raising family & providing for your childs education. Perhaps you did not have time or even the aptitude to understand questions like 'who you were', What the real purpose of your life was. Retirement is the time to ponder over all these question.

All your working life you have taken so much. You have exploited natural resources and degraded the environment to make life more comfortable. May be you harmed......

Meditation and yoga are necessary but by themseslves they do not constitute spiritual practice. We need to remain spiritually alert in whatever we do throughout the day.
A man was very religious, with great faith he would practise meditation and silence for 4 to 5hrs daily. But he was indifferent to good behaviour. As a result besides his friends his family members were angry with him. His behaviour made them shun religion.
A man cannot be religious if his practice turns others away from it.

"Why it is believed that spiritual practice is possible only within traditationly accepted limits and not outside them?"

Meditation, observance of silence and physical relaxation are indeed spiritual practises but are speaking, eating, drinking, sitting and standing are not spiritual practices? The following story illustrates this point:

Once two kings went hunting , rinding their own chariots. One chariot got burned down, while the horse pulling the othe chariot died. Both the kings were stranded. But they worked it out.One gave his chariot and the other horse. and the two were able to return to town.
The same is true of spiritual practice. In a fragmented or partial form it does not bring liberation. The integrity of spiritual practice is questioned by those who insist that it is possible only in a particular place, at a particular time and through a particular activity......

All that love that history knows,

I said to be in every Rose.

Yet all that could be ,

found in two ,

is less than what I feel

for U.

In each parting day,

I wish I could say.
