Written by Ernesto on November 24, 2007

The Pirate Bay has canceled its plan to launch an OiNK replacement. BOiNK was supposed to revive the hundreds of thousands of music albums that were lost during the raid, but The Pirate Bay will leave that up to more specialized private BitTorrent trackers.

poinkThe plan behind BOiNK was to re-upload all the lost OiNK torrents to a public tracker called BOiNK. However, it turns out that the music loving pirates didn’t need The Pirate Bay to help them out because several new sites sprung up to replace it mere days after OiNK went down.

Pirate Bay admin Brokep, who listed......

Written by Ernesto on November 18, 2007

The well-known BitTorrent site Mininova reached a new Milestone today. Just weeks after hitting the 3 billion torrent downloads mark, Mininova notched up its 1,000,000th uploaded torrent.

mininovaTorrent number 1,000,000 was uploaded yesterday by an anonymous user. Unfortunately, the memorable torrent has no seeds, which makes it likely that it wont be around much longer.

One million uploaded torrents is a great accomplishment, especially if you consider that Mininova only allows user uploads. Contrary to what most people assume, Mininova doesn’t scrape any torrents......

Written by enigmax on November 07, 2007

Sometime during the last 24 hours there was a mass deletion of aXXo torrents from The Pirate Bay’s tracker. It appears that a dispute between aXXo and The Pirate Bay about how to best handle alleged MPAA torrent meddling got way out of hand - with aXXo deleting lots of his torrents and leaving The Pirate Bay.

Getting Stressed Out With Anonymous BitTorrent

Written by enigmax on November 05, 2007

With 6-figure file-sharing fines being handed out, people like OiNK facing prison and ISPs meddling with BitTorrent, hiding your online activity is becoming a hot topic. Relakks burst onto the scene as savior a little while ago but are they still performing for the BitTorrent community? Relakks’ed? Stressed out more like.

Millions of people around the globe share files and most do so without a second thought for privacy issues. A lot don’t know that it’s possible for people to monitor their online activities and equally, many will know that they can be monitored but chance their hand that they are one in millions and will probably slip under the radar.

For an increasing number of net users, privacy and a level of anonymity is becoming a requirement, especially for those in locales where ridiculous fines and prison sentences are becoming more prevalent. Those......
