 This is a poem I write A long time ago...

Im Körper und Seele

Einmal machte ich die Augen zu,

Ich Fühlte die Wärme der Sonne

Und die Liedre der Vögeln.

Als ich meinen Augen öffnete,

fühlte ich mich leer, du warst nicht da.

Ich suchte dich in den Vulkanen,

auf den Gebirgsketten, den Wüsten,

durch die Städte und Häuser,

aber ich fand dich nicht.

Ich suchte dich an allen Orten,

an den wir gemeinsam waren,

an den wir nicht waren

und immer gemeinsam sein möchten,

und ich fand dich nicht.

Aber einmal, als ich dich

Zu suchen aufhörte, fand ich dich.

Du warst da bei mir, immer bei mir,

Recuerdo el recuerdo de otro tiempo donde fui tan feliz

y a la vez estuve tan triste.

Aún puedo sentir la brisa de aquellosdías cálidos

y la lluvia de los más frios .

Aún veo los cielos azules

y las noches de blanca luna.

Aún siento...

Pero hoy siento que todo esta mejor, veo con gran claridad,

Y hoy los cielos son mas azules, las lunas mas blancas,

las brisas mas calidas y la lluvia mas fria,

Porque ahora siento la alegría inmensa de la libertad.

Translation

I remember the memory of another time where I was so happy

And at the same time so sad.

I still can feel the breeze of those warm days and the rain of the coldest ones.

I still can see blue skies

And the nights of white moon.

I still feel…

Nonetheless today I feel that everything is better, I see it clearly,

And today the skies are bluer, the moons are whiter,

The breezes warmer and the rains colder, because now, I......

I love you and I hate you,

But I hate you more than I love you

So I’m wondering why I’m thinking about you

And I end up hating the simple fact of having you in my mind.

I don’t know what’s going on with this life,

It’s so odd sometimes,

One day you love

One time you hate.

It’s so weird and funny this life,

It can give you the most beautiful experiences,

And then just mess everything up

And it gives you the most frightening moments.

It’s so strange this life

It can lead you to misfortune and sadness

And right away it gives you a second chance

Just to return to the very beginning.

Sometimes I lie down and watch the stars,

And I’m always wondering how life’s treating me

But life is so bizarre that the answer

For that question is lost in time.

Spoken Japanese consists of simple syllables, generally consisting of a vowel, or a consonant plus a vowel.  There are few complex consonant clusters.  All vowels and consonants have consistent pronunciation.  Consonants are crisply pronounced.

Vowels are always pronounced the same way; long vowels (usually marked in English transliteration with a macron (“ū,” or as two vowels “ou”) are simply longer in duration (actually two syllables), the sound doesn’t change:

Sometimes syllables are made up of a combination of a consonant and a semi-vowel (ya, yu, yo) – as in Tōkyō, Kyōto, gyūniku (beef), etc.—resist the temptation to pronounce these as Tokiyo, Kiyoto, giyuniku – the consonant plus semi-vowel sound be a single syllable.  Think of kyu and the English word “cute”

All syllables receive the same amount of stress or emphasis. (For most Americans that means pronouncing Japanese without any stress or emphasis.) 

“yo-ko-ha-ma”  NOT “yo-KA-HA-ma“  

“mi-tsu-bi-shi”  NOT “meats-U-bi-shi”

“Ko-i-zu-mi” NOT “COY-zumi” 

You can almost always divide the syllables after a vowel.  (exception: some syllables end in “n” (shinbun = newspaper)  (Nihon = Japan); sometimes a consonant is doubled (Roppongi – Tokyo place; or Hatchōbori – Tokyo place), which actually represents two syllables (pronounced with a slight pause– Ro-p’pon-gi; Ha-t’cho-o-bo-ri).

This is the "pure sounds" of the katakana alphabet, which is used to write foreign words like オレンジ [orange], also to highlight a word or also to write a foreign name...
