First I'd like to thank those who have posted well wishes in regards to my illness. That's nice to know there are people out there who really care. 

I met with a surgeon today for his opinion (a second opinion) on which procedure should be done.  He thinks the shunt will help me most.  He does all other ear surgeries but that one so he referred me to a different surgeon.  He does a shunt procedure that closes the fluid sac in my inner ear forever.  Then I can't have the fluid build up lessening if not taking away my dizziness. From what I understand it is possible it will not help my imbalance but there is a good chance it will.  I am game for anything at this point.  Living day to day not being able to plan ahead because you never know if you will be able to walk let alone lift your head off the pillow is just incredibly stressful.  Of course stress leads to more attacks so no pressure there. LOL  My appointment is on......

BIT COMET RULES! I have been busy downloading books since I can no longer read due to my dizziness.  I will have loads to read now! I also love sharing. 

I am so sick of doctors appointments and medical tests.  My cousin and I sure do pay for a lot of doctor's pools, new cars, etc..

This weekend is time for Spring cleaning.  I am adding a new closet rack so we can hang more clothes, cleaning carpets, etc.. Then we have to help a friend pack for moving at the end of this month. I am tired just thinking about it.   

Just wanted to say hi and thanks to everyone for all your support about my illness.  I thank the Lord each day for caring people.  Imagine if everyone was like that?  

I joined this blog since Rosie O'Donnell uses it so I figure it must be good. Plus Bit Comet uses it and they totally rock!

I'm Joan and from Utah. I have an inner ear disorder called Meniere's Disease. This illness causes severe vertigo, dizziness, tinnitus (ringing of the ear), hearing loss, migraines and drop attacks.  It took me a year and a half to get approved for Medicaid so now that I have been approved I am getting to see specialist that can hopefully help me regain some semblance of a life. There is no cure for Meniere's. I can only do the best I can to find ways to control my symptoms as best as possible. I am pretty much bed ridden but hope to find something that will change all that. Of course I am looking for alternative treatments even if the USA does not recognize those as legitimate treatments.
