Since, I consider myself to be sort of an expert in the differences of the American and English words, and shall be returning to the country over the pond again soon, I thought this would be a fun blog to do today.  Below are some wordage differences I have stumbled upon during my visits to the UK:

American - apartment; British - flat

American - argument; British - row

American - bathroom (mens or womens room); British - Loo

American - Cookie; British - Biscuit (American Biscuits are totally different)

American - Elevator; British - Lift

American - Diaper; British - Nappy

Ameircan - Fries (or French Fries); British - Chips

American - Chips; British - Crisps

American - Gas; British - Petrol

American - Highway; British - Motorway

Ameican - Hood; British - Bonnet

American - Lawyer; British - Solicitor

American - Line; British - Queue

American - Mail; British - Post

American - Motor Home; British - Caravan (American's use at times)

American - Pacifier or Binky; British - Dummy

American - Pants; British - Trousers (American's use at times)

American - Sausage; British - Banger

American - Sidewalk; British - Pavement

American - Pharmacist; British - Chemist

American - Vacation; British - Holiday

American - Rent; British - Hire

Can a man and woman just be friends?  Or, is it impossible?  Now, when I am talking about a man and woman, I am talking about men and women that are attracted to the opposite sex.  Let's say one of them is married.  Is it possible for those two to be just friends?  I grew up with a group of boys that I come to love as my brothers.  And, I was only friends with them.  I never went beyond that friendship.  So am I out of the norm?

I am just being curious.  I want to know what you think of when you hear the word "America?"  Yes, I am an American.  And, yes, I am proud of that fact.  I think everyone should be proud of the country they come from.  However, I would just like to hear other people's opinion of my country.  I do not take every word personally so please don't be afraid to say anything.  Now, I will tell you that I have been on the other side of the pond many, many times, and the people there have always treated me very good.  Heck, they said they loved my accent!  I did not even know I had one. lol  Now, I am no fool, I will be the first to tell you that my country is not perfect.  I admit many American's are spoiled brats!  They don't appreciate what they have in life.  Also, many of them are set in their own way of thinking.  They don't see outside of our border lines.  Soon, I will be calling the country on the other side of the pond my home, and I will be proud of that, because that means I will be enjoying my life with the man that I love.  I guess that is why I am asking this question.  What do you think when you hear the word "America?"

Who decides what is normal in this world?  Our parents?  Our friends?  Our society?  I say to heck with all of that.  No one is normal.  We are all unique.  I would not want it any other way.  If you show me someone that is "normal," then I will show you someone that is drop dead boring!  I no longer live my life by societies rules.  I say throw them out.  Time to teach the young and even the old to throw those beliefs out and live, live, live!!  No more doing things just to please our parents, friends, and society.  Now I am not saying go out and murder someone.  No!  I am saying "live your life to be happy."  Do not worry about others around you.  Stop worrying about what others may say or do.  Time to be truely happy in life.  You only do it once, right?  So go out and LIVE!!!!

P.S. Before you do, give me a comment. lol

One thing I can say that I could depend on during these years of my life is MUSIC!  Music had a way to pull me through life.  No matter what mood I was in, there was always the pefect song or songs to listen to.  When I enjoyed a happy day and life seemed to be so perfect, I would turn on music to dance to around the house.  When I had a hard day at work and dragged myself home, I would turn on hard rock and release my anger.  And, when I had those difficult relationship times....you know the ones that totally drained you and seemed to bring on rain so that you sit at the window and stare, I would then turn on my favorite sad songs and they somehow brought me comfort with my tears.  On another note, there are the songs pop on the radio that instantly bring your memories back to a specific time in your life.  The songs that give you a smile and you say to yourself "hey, I remember that time when I....."  I guess I am posting this blog, because I just learned how to put music on my blog and picked some songs to share with others....songs that I enjoy in my life now.  Drop by and feel free to comment on them, or just comment on your memories of your favorite songs.

They are talking over here about possibly lowering the legal drinking age from 21 years of age to 18 years of age.  I see the positives and negatives of both sides.  Personally, I grew up when they changed the drinking age to 21.  Yes, it irritated me then; however, it was not a major factor in my life, and I concentrated on my education instead.  I know from my many times in the UK the drinking age is younger than 21.  I seen the young kids on the corners drinking cidar.  I guess I am asking all of you, where do you stand on this issue and why?  Don't be afraid to comment.
