For what is man, but a rational animal. Over time man's rational instincts has slowly been overcome by his carnal desires, taking away the main aspect that separates him from the animals he governs. Man is becoming a prisoner of his irrational passions, losing the capacity for objectivity. He has come to their mercy, acting on their every command. With all rationality faded, the blindfold has fallen, letting him see that he was on the plank from the start. "Oh! this is the end!", he exclaims.
