I am tainted by the past, corrupted by sins,
Yet somehow, something human has survived beneath my skin.
Its clawing at my mind, it wants to be released,
But i fear i may have crossed the line that separates man from beast.
I'm not sure what to do, I'd love to just forget.
Pretend i'd never done anything that i'd one day regret,
But you can lose yourself by dreaming, its best to let it be,
The scars remain forever, but the pain grows less, you'll see.
Enough about the past though, the present haunts me now,
Whenever I think i may be safe, it somehow hunts me down,
I've tried to just fit in, pretend i'm like the rest,
But a million eyes upon me, puts my patience to the test.
Its hard when you're a demon, to wear a halo proudly,
It makes me so self conscious, i want to cry out loudly,
I am not who you think i am, i'm a wolf in sheep's disguise,
But once they see me for what i am, there's nowhere I can hide.
