Our leaders have been in the pockets of Big Oil for too long. The world is running out of fossil fuels, and our future depends on finding other ways of producing energy. Let's send a message to politicians and other leaders in your state and in Washington: we need clean, safe, affordable, renewable alternative energy, and we need it now.
Alternative energy isn't a partisan or ideological issue. We won't be able to make the transition away from fossil fuels immediately, but we must start now. Today, we can begin by conserving energy produced by fossil fuels. In the future, solar, wind, hydro, biomass, hydrogen, geothermal, and other technologies will all be pieces of the energy puzzle. We can improve the environment, our economy, and even our national security through the transition to alternative energy.
And i think We need energy that is reliable, clean, cheap, and abundant.
Fossil fuels are cheap and reliable, but finite and polluting. The converging catastrophes of peak oil and climate change are becoming alarming.
Wind & Solar are clean, and theoretically abundant if scaled about 100 fold, but are hopelessly intermittent and expensive. Battery technology is not sufficient to store sporadic and unreliable power coming in off the grid for when it isn't sunny or windy.
Hydro power is reliable, cheap, and clean... but cannot be expanded.
Only nuclear power meets all four categories.
