Hey guys what are your favourite animes out there? I have a lot but I'm just goin to name and introduce some of the more popular and well deserved anime shows.

First up,

NARUTO!

Brief Introduction: Deep within the heart of a place that few are meant to know exists, there is a secret. It beats and claws the fortress that hold it back, cursing the powers that restrain it, dreading the day when it will have died without having regained its dignity. It is the kyuubi, the nine-tailed fox demon of ancient lore, and it rests in a little boy's belly button¦ Naruto is a twelve-year-old who wants nothing but acceptance from his peers and the chance to prove his worth to a world that seems to be arbitrarily and eternally screwed against him. He, Sakura, a (literally) dual-minded little girl with pink hair, and Sasuke, a boy who never really came to terms with his inability to gain his father's approval, move steadily through their years as junior shinobi with the subtlety of a panther stalking its prey and the blatant, often dirty-minded, sense of humour that comes with adolescence, (amazingly enough) at the same time. Naruto Shippuuden is the continuation of the original animated TV series Naruto. The story revolves around an older and slightly more matured Uzumaki Naruto and his quest to save his friend Uchiha Sasuke from the grips of the snake-like Shinobi, Orochimaru. After 2 and a half years Naruto finally returns to his village of Konoha, and sets about putting his ambitions to work, though it will not be easy, as He has amassed a few (more dangerous) enemies, in the likes of the shinobi organization; Akatsuki.

Note:This is still an ongoing series:)

Second,

BLEACH!

Brief Introduction: The story takes place in Karakura Town, Western Tokyo and talks about a 15 years old boy by the name "Ichigo Kurosaki". There is something particular about Ichigo, and that's the fact that he can see "ghosts"! One night when he came home from a night out, he found his family in desperate need of his help, they were being attacked by a monster know as a "Hollow", which is a human soul who didn't go to Heaven or Hell. While trying to save his family he encounters a young girl with a katana who answers to the name of "Rukia Kuchiki" and is a shinigami, an angel of death. She, like many others came to the human world to destroy hallows and allow human souls to reach the Soul Society, also known as Heaven. Although it is impossible for a human to see shinigamis or hallows our young hero seems to be very much capable of doing so. Furious by the attack on his family Ichigo rushed towards the hallow in an attempt to kill it, but before he could react the hallow counter attacked him with its mighty teeth. As Ichigo stared blankly into what he thought was going to be his death, Rukia interfered and threw herself in front of him making the hallow attack her instead of him. She had sacrificed herself for him, and now lay half eaten by the hallow. Though with the last of her powers Rukia tell Ichigo that there is only one way to save himself and his family. Astonished, Ichigo accepts any conditions, and with that Rukia took her sword and pierced the heart of Ichigo to transfers her powers to him and allow him to become a shinigami! Ichigo knows he has no time to hesitate, and so a second later the arm of the hallow is cut and soon after that the rest of it was completely destroyed. Now Ichigo standing stronger then ever with his new shinigami outfit and monstrous sword, is happy that he has saved his family and the life of Rukia, but he is unaware that this isn't going to be the last time he will have to do so, and so the story of Bleach begins.

Note: This is also an ongoing series:P

Third,

D-GRAY MAN!

Brief Introduction: Allen Walker is a young Exorcist who has a cursed eye that can see the suffering of the Akumas created by The Millenium Earl. He travels to England to the Headquarters of the Exorcists where his Master has sent him to meet with the other Exorcists. The battle with the Millenium Earl and the Noah Family vs. the Exorcists intensifies when some of the best Exorcists begin to get killed by hoards of Akuma. Japan takes center stage in this end of 19th Century plot in order to not let the entire human race be turned into Akumas and the Exorcists have the power of "Innocence" that was given to them by God on their side.

Note: Haha as usual, this is an ongoing series

Fourth,

SOUL-EATER!

Brief Introduction: Set in the Shinigami technical school for weapon meisters, the series revolves around 3 groups of each a weapon meister and a human weapon. Trying to make the latter a "Death Scythe" and thus fit for use by the Shinigami, they must collect the souls of 99 evil humans and 1 witch.

Note: This is a relatively new series but up till now, I can say that it is worthed watching

Fifth,

ONE-PIECE!

Brief Introduction: The renowned Pirate King Gold Roger, before he was executed, revealed that his treasure a.k.a One Piece was hidden somewhere in the Grand Line. Those who find the legendary treasure will be receive the title: Pirate King. 22 years after his death, a pirate called Monkey D. Luffy who has the power of rubber gotten from a devil fruit, appeared. He builds a strong crew in his search of the treasure to overcome the dangers on the Grand Line. This starts the never ending adventure for him as he pursues his one and only goal: To find the treasure "One Piece"  and become the next Pirate King.

Note: This is probably the longest anime I've known but it's quite a nice series. To date it has more than 350 episodes and will most likely pass the 400 mark.

Sixth,

CODE GEASS!

Brief Introduction: Japan has been invaded by the Empire of Britannia through the use of robots called the Knightmare Frames. As a captured country, Japan is renamed Area 11, and its citizens the 11s. Lelouch, a Britannian living in Japan, vowed to his best friend, Suzaku, a Japanese that he would destroy Briannia and its king. Years later, Lelouch who is in high school, regularly skips his lessons to gamble on his chess games with nobles. One day, he stumbles on some terrorists 11s who have stolen a military secret and is caught by Suzaku, a soldier of the Britannian task force sent to spy on them. As the rest of the squad arrives, Suzaku is shot for disobeying orders, while the military secret, a girl by the name of C.C, bestowed Lelouch the power of Geass, which makes anyone obey any order. As Suzaku is secretly made the pilot of Britannia's brand new prototype Knightmare, Lancelot, Lelouch becomes the masked Zero, leader of the Order of black Knights to lead the rebellion to destroy Britannia. After one year has passed since the failure of the Black Rebellion and the death of Zero, Britannia has assigned Area 11 a "correctional education" status, where 11s are made an example of by brute force, in order to prevent any future revolt and also to curb rebellious thoughts. Lelouch, who lost his memory, stumbles upon a scheme on his life and the life of C.C, who later reveals to him his forgotten purpose and his true self. Destroying his assailants and declaring himself Zero once again, Lelouch sets out to finish what he started, bringing the doom of Britannia nearer.

Note: This is a really good series that is different from the first to fifth anime. It's currently into its second season and up till now, all I can say is that it is definitely worthed watching. Thumbs up!

yo! from the four u've described I've only watched Bleach, and I can say it's worth watching from time to time :) However I personally prefer a bit diferent style of anime - Ergo Proxy, Elfen Lied - that's what took my biggest attention. If u like martial arts you would like to see Basilisk. And ofcourse everything that comes from ghibli :) Princess Mononoke, Howl's moving castle, Naussica, Spirited Away, etc etc... :)

So anyway that's my pick :)

Peace!

"Burn Rubber - Not Your Soul"
younghawk Wed Jun 18, 08 11:54 AM

yup Bleach's havin some filler currently(I mean the anime)..really hope that they will track back to the manga asap.

I also watched Ergo Proxy b4 I can say it's not bad. Thx for ur suggestion for the martial arts anime I will go look for these anime and hopefully I'll take a liking to it!

squall86 Wed Jun 18, 08 04:16 PM

a little disclaimer :P ghibli does NOT do anime of martial arts (as it may occure from my prev. post) but IMHO even though they're not MA they're still top rank :)
