Today I visited my old friend Joseph. We go way back, for over 10 years or so. He wanted me to come to help him with his PC. His FireFox application had crashed and wouldn't restart anymore - even after a reïnstall. I figured this was due to a stale lock-file. Lockfiles are used to keep track of applications that are running, but sometimes when a program dies, it leaves the lockfile and you get an error the next time you try to start the application that it thinks that it is already running.
I fixed this by using Windows CHKDSK program at boot time, it checks for stale files as well. This worked and it fixed the problem.
Then the friend said: "While you're here ... could you please have a look at my website." He wanted some things redesigned, wanted a new background picture, so I helped him create a seamless background like the one I use here. He wanted a picture of the universe and ofcourse he wanted me to host the file, because with youtube pages you apparently can't upload a background image. Don't know why this is, but I put the image on my own webserver and then youtube-channel editor lets you pick it as a background from an external server. Well as long as my friend's page isn't attracting thousands of visitors, it doesn't cost me much bandwidth. You can find Joseph's youtube-channel here: http://nl.youtube.com/user/jesusLostChildren777 I hoped you like the color design cause he did most of it on my suggestions. Joseph's webpage is entirely dedicated to God, because he is a strong religious person. I have no problems with that by the way, when I first met him he was pretty much a lost boy, used marihuana and other drugs and he walked a long road to come back to his senses again. It's a bit like my story about drugs, at one day you just realize that it destroys more then you like to afford and then you decide to quit. Well for Joseph it went a little diffrent, he on a certain day felt the urge to look up stuff about Jesus, and in the end this led to him becoming a dedicated christian. I think it brought al lot of positive changes for him.
Well if he likes to tell you more about himself, he can comment here, he probably will read this somewhere today.
But enough about him now.
My girlfriend in turn helps me out today, getting a mattras for if I have guests sleeping over. And today my curtains finally are done, so I can pick them up in the shop. I really can't wait to for the first time close the curtains in my home. Not that much can be seen from the outside (I live on the 4th floor). But when I wanna walk buttnaked through my living room, I don't like to directly see the outside world. Plus, with curtains I can close, I can watch TV better during the day time, cause with sunlight it's hard to see anything on my little TV. (I don't have the money for a big plasma TV of 50 inch, like Joseph does have. If you read this: I envy you Joseph!!! ;-) )
So thats about this day. Tomorrow morning I have to go to the hospital for a nice little chat, I have those weekly - it's part of the terms on which I have been released from the hospital, so they can check if I'm not cracking up again I guess. But I'll go on about that in tomorrow's post on this blog.
