Without wanting to hurt anybody's feeling, I certainly understand that many questions might arise when a green light turns yellow, when a 99,9% file does not end downloading, or when whatever turns "bazook" in a unexpectd manner... with BitComet. Being now quite some time with BitComet and reading many comments, I realized that some "back to basics" are required.
There is one thing I have been told when I started my professional carreer:
"Please read first very carefully and try things out; if you have questions then, we shall answer them and help you out"
♦ I think this is a - de facto - sound statement valid for everything ♦
BitComet (may you like it or not) offers a sound and well explained user manual on various pages and in different forms, its forums are good for help, Q&A and FAQ are available through blogs and one gets comments from very experienced users. The experienced users are not only freaks, crazy downloaders etc., but possess an active computer knowledge that enables them to trace problems via a Trial & Error pattern, thus giving a solution. Furthermore, there are sufficient texts on other web-sites that give you hands on help how to increase speed, which programs you need, why to open TCP/IP half-open ports, why DHT or not, is long-term good or bad etc. and etc. Anybody will get enough info, but one MUST take the time to read and figure out at his best.
Actually the magic sentence I want to send out is: "Please read, read and read first". I personally ride myself through given comments and just leave small help hints.
Have fun and keep seeding and downloading...
