BitComet 0.99?

I just upgraded to BitComet 0.99 when it was first released just a few days ago. At first I thought it was wonderful. The TCP/IP limitation issue is changed in this version. I really like that.

BUT...

as of this morning, my BitComet 0.99 has been shutting off by itself and not working at all for me. Everytime I try to start it back up, it will automatically shut down once again. I have had to revert back to BitComet 0.98 just so I am able to run it at all.

Is anyone else having problems with BitComet 0.99? If more people are having problems with BitComet version 0.99, then hopefully the BitComet creators will be able to figure this bug out and fix this issue quickly.

i have upgraded to 0.99 sinds 2 days now no problems here

i have the feeeling that my speed is douwn just a littelbit but startup and connecting to the blogs is quiker than before i can open more pages (blogs )

so untill now im satisfide

Thanks for keeping me posted about this issue.

The TCP/IP Limt has to do with how many half-open connections you can have at any one time. If you have Windows XP Service Pack 2 it limits the half-open ports to 10 slots. That is a small number, so it takes much longer to connect to new peers when you are first starting a download.

No Proplems at all here ..

I am not sure if there were critical update for windows in the past week or not .. but as far as noticed nothing as you described happened .. i cannot even think of any recommendation or steps to solve your problem but i will ask my friends so that..

I have all the critical updates for Windows installed because I have automatic announcements set up. I get notified pretty soon after they are released and I download them to my computer.

I just went back to BitComet 0.98 for now, because it works well for me. Until I hear 0.99 is fixed or I figure out a way to use it without it shutting off as soon as it starts, I will keep using 0.98.

I don't think there is a problem with the new version of Bitcomet 0.99.

In the previous version of Bitcomet 0.98 i had a problem with one of the windows update that has a conflict with the settings of Bitcomet 0.98 ..

I also set my windows update to automatic.. But sometimes they mess up with my applications so i removed them..

Maybe I am not sure but you could remove the following updates

KB 943485

KB 941644<<<< specially this one.

and then try the new version of Bitcomet 0.99 because it works fine with most of ppl.

If you are interested : you can go through your update list from the Control Panel (Control pannel, Add/Remove Programs, Check show updates box, Scroll to windows updates) then look carefully for the latest one .. for me it was on Jan 9. 2008. ( KB 943458).

Thanks for the information. I actually had to remove the Windows Update KB 941644 for BitComet 0.98 to let me change my TCP/IP Limts. That is why BitComet 0.98 works fine for me now.

Maybe I will wait a little while and try version 0.99 again.

yes same here there were no problems at all, i even download it on ma laptop still nothing is wrong maybe it can work out if u try downloadin it again or reinstallin, lol i think u have done it already
